Job summary

A local restaurant in Kuala Lumpur is looking for a Head Chef to oversee kitchen operations, ensuring safety and quality standards. Candidates should have 3-5 years of experience in culinary roles, preferably with expertise in Japanese or local Malaysian cuisines. Strong communication skills in English and Malay are required. Immediate availability is preferred, and the position is open to Malaysian citizens only.

Qualifications

  • At least 3-5 years of working experience as a chef.

  • Preference for candidates available to start immediately.

  • Design and implement kitchen standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Conduct audits and ensure safety, hygiene and quality control protocols.
  • Understand customers' preferences and guide teams accordingly.
  • Plan and execute new menu.
  • Manage stocks availability and storage.
  • Manage workflow in Central Kitchen and outlets.
  • Coach and develop the team.

  • Coach and develop the team for continuous growth and foster a positive, yet disciplined working environment.
  • Other tasks assigned by the management.
Requirements
  • At least 3-5 years of working experience as a chef is preferred.
  • Experiences in Japanese or local Malaysian cuisines would be an added advantage.
  • Strong communication skills, fluent in English & Malay languages.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who are available to start immediately.
