About the role

As Head Chef at MÙ Hotel (company owner by Wanchin Sdn Bhd), you will be responsible for leading and managing the kitchen team to deliver exceptional culinary experiences for our guests. This full-time role is based in Ipoh, Perak, and offers the opportunity to shape the direction of our restaurant's menu and culinary operations.

What you'll be doing
  • Oversee the daily operations of the kitchen, ensuring efficient workflow and high standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Develop and refine the restaurant's menu, incorporating innovative dishes that showcase your culinary expertise.
  • Recruit, train and manage a team of skilled chefs and kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.
  • Ensure compliance with all food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Monitor food costs and inventory, optimising resources to maintain profitability.
  • Collaborate with the front-of-house team to enhance the overall dining experience for our guests.
What we're looking for
  • Extensive experience as a Head Chef or in a similar senior culinary role, preferably within the hospitality and tourism industry.
  • Proven track record of leading and developing a high-performing kitchen team.
  • Exceptional culinary skills, with a keen understanding of flavours, presentation and the latest industry trends.
  • Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities, with the flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with the broader restaurant team.
  • Passion for creating unforgettable dining experiences and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
  • A minimum of 5 years of working experience in a 3-star hotel (or above) is required, along with a good understanding of Halal SOPs and compliance standards.
