Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree or equivalent in Electronics or related field.
  • Strong electrical design and debugging skills are required.
  • Familiarity with PCIe, NVMe, SAS, SATA, I2C, SPI, PMBus, DDR buses is essential.
  • SDRAM timing and integrity analysis for clocks, strobes, hold, power bounce, and temperature stability is expected.
  • Knowledge of high performance CPU architectures (Intel, AMD, MRVL) is desirable.
  • Experience with test/measurement equipment (oscilloscopes, impedance analysers, power meters, signal/spectrum analyzers).
  • Working knowledge of Windows and Linux configurations, networks, and drivers.
  • Orcad Schematics & Allegro PCB layout tools familiarity is desirable.
  • Knowledge of signal integrity, power integrity, system integration, thermal and EMC testing is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Identify technical issues and coordinate with R&D, Manufacturing and Field teams.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter who likes to take responsibility and works best with little supervision. Likes to perform a variety of tasks and have the ability to handle multiple priorities and has previously performed in a similar position. This is a 'hands-on' role requiring a strong technical knowledge.

Detailed Description

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Identify technical issues, troubleshoot and resolve them by coordinating with R&D, Manufacturing and Field teams
  • Hardware validation of Networking, Storage, Server products against customer’s infield issues, product requirements and Mfg. issues during NPI or RMA
  • Qualify alternative components for compatibility, cost effectiveness and benchmarking
  • Work with Mfg., Test and development teams to troubleshoot, identify root cause of system failure, suggest and validate solutions
  • BEng. (Hons.) in Electronics or similar
  • Strong electrical design and debug skills required
  • Familiar with PCIe, NVMe, SAS, SATA, I2C, SPI, PMBus, DDR buses
  • SDRAM timing and integrity analysis for clocks, strobes, S&H, Power bounce, temp. stability
  • High performance RISC / X86 CPUs and architecture including Intel, AMD, MRVL
  • Proficient in using various test and measurement equipment including but not limited to Oscilloscope, Impedance analyzer, Power meter, Signal analyzer, Spectrum analyzer
  • Working knowledge of windows & Linux configuration, installation procedure, network configuration, driver configuration etc.
  • Working knowledge of Orcad Schematics & Allegro PCB layout tools is desirable
  • Knowledge in signal integrity test, power integrity test, system integration test, thermal test, reliability test and EMC test is an advantage
Physical Demands
  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.
  • Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.
  • Occasional travel may be required.

  • 2 to 5 years of related experience in similar job roles
