Job summary

A food manufacturing company in Kuala Lumpur is looking for a QC Specialist to ensure compliance with Halal standards. The role involves leading the JAKIM Halal certification application, monitoring daily compliance for CK and outlets, and maintaining comprehensive documentation. Candidates should have at least 2 years of experience in the food industry and relevant qualifications. Strong communication and coordination skills are essential.   • Certified Halal Executive will be prioritized.

Job description

This role will be positioned under QC Department. He/ she is responsible for ensuring all products and production processes comply with Halal standards by monitoring production, conducting inspections, and maintaining documentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the full JAKIM Halal certification application.
  • Prepare and submit documents such as ingredient lists, supplier lists, Halal certificates, SOPs, manuals, and layout/flow charts.
  • Coordinate central kitchen and outlet readiness to meet MS1500:2019 requirements and liaise with JAKIM/JAIN officers until approval.
  • Monitor Halal compliance daily for CK and outlets: receiving, storage, production, handling, packaging, and distribution.
  • Verify all ingredients and suppliers for valid Halal certification before purchase or use.
  • Maintain complete Halal documentation, training records, audit files, and traceability logs.
  • Conduct internal Halal audits and support external JAKIM audits.
  • Implement corrective actions and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Monitor production for cross-contamination or non-compliance with Halal procedures.
Valued Qualifications

  • Diploma/Degree in Halal Science, Food Science, Food Technology, Islamic Studies, or related field.
  • Certified Halal Executive will be prioritized.
