Job summary

MVC Resources is seeking a Tax Senior Executive/Assistant Manager to lead corporate tax matters within our premier investment and property development group in Kuala Lumpur. You will oversee tax compliance, planning, advisory services, and audits across multiple SBUs, ensuring optimal tax positions and regulatory alignment.

The role requires strong communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia, with Mandarin a plus, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy and/or ACCA/CIMA; MIA/CTIM adds advantage.
• 3–4 years of hands-on experience in corporate tax compliance within a commercial group or tax firm.
• Solid understanding of Malaysian Corporate Tax Law and taxation principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Mandarin language ability is an added advantage.
• Able to manage multiple tasks, work independently, and meet deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal and liaison skills across divisions and with external parties (IRB).

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and ensure timely submission of annual corporate tax computations and returns for all SBUs.
• Provide advisory services to SBUs on complex transactions to maximise tax efficiency.
• Manage, support, and coordinate all information required for tax audits and investigations by the IRB up to clearance.
• Monitor, review, and ensure timely compliance with Withholding Tax and other statutory tax requirements.
• Review, assess, and ensure adequacy of annual and quarterly tax estimates and provisions.
• Communicate and implement new tax laws, public rulings, and budget proposals across the Group.
• Assist with applications for tax refunds, tax credits, and penalty waivers, while monitoring the Group's overall tax position.
