A regional organization with a growing international footprint is seeking a seasoned finance professional to lead its group reporting and consolidation function. This role is based in Malaysia and involves overseeing financial reporting across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and operational efficiency in a dynamic and evolving environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles, ensuring timely and accurate reporting across complex accounting areas.
  • Manage group-level consolidation processes, including variance analysis and reporting for senior stakeholders.
  • Oversee foreign currency translations and revaluations, ensuring compliance with global accounting standards.
  • Maintain and reconcile intercompany balances, minority interests, and elimination entries.
  • Support configuration and maintenance of financial reporting systems and data structures.
  • Act as financial controller for assigned entities, ensuring proper accounting treatment and regulatory compliance.
  • Coordinate legal entity lifecycle activities such as setup, restructuring, and closure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure entity-level governance and compliance.
  • Review financial statements for accuracy and provide insights through trend analysis.
  • Drive process improvements and automation initiatives within the reporting function.
  • Standardize reporting practices and address data quality and system integration challenges.
  • Contribute to structural and systems optimization projects.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to reporting and consolidation teams.
  • Liaise with internal finance, planning, tax, and treasury teams to ensure alignment.
  • Support audit processes and respond to queries related to group and entity-level reporting.
Requirements
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certification preferred.
  • At least 10 years of experience in accounting, with a minimum of 3 years in group consolidation.
  • Strong understanding of international accounting standards and intercompany accounting.
  • Experience with financial consolidation tools and ERP systems is advantageous.
  • Proven ability to manage legal entity financials and navigate complex reporting environments.
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
