Job summary

MKS Inc. is seeking a Global Electronics Supplier Manager in Penang, Malaysia. You will partner with Engineering, Procurement, Category Management and Sourcing to develop and update the electronics supply base strategy, reporting to the Senior Manager, PCBA's & Distribution Category.

In this role you will lead supplier negotiations, drive cost improvements, and manage master agreements while ensuring supplier performance aligns with business continuity goals. Travel up to 25% is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain; master's preferred.
• 5+ years in Electronics category/commodity management.
• Experience shaping supplier and supply chain strategies with suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine the electronics category strategy with cross-functional teams.
• Serve as single point of contact for key strategic global suppliers.
• Improve supply chain efficiency and resolve critical issues affecting the business.
• Negotiate cost, on-time delivery, lead times, and supplier performance.
• Manage master supply agreement creation, reviews and updates.
• Track supplier performance using scorecards and quarterly reviews.
• Lead dual sourcing, supplier identification, and continuity planning.
• Communicate strategy, risks, and improvement ideas to stakeholders.
• Oversee projects with assigned strategic suppliers and support new supplier onboarding.

As a Global Electronics Supplier Manager, you will partner with Engineering, Procurement, Category Management and Sourcing to develop, refine, and update the electronics supply base strategy. In this role, you will report to the Senior Manager, PCBA's & Distribution Category.

You Will Make an Impact By:

• Participate in developing and refining the company electronics category strategy.
• Single point of contact for business engagements with assigned key strategic globally managed electronics suppliers.
• Improve supply chain efficiency and solve dynamic problems that are important to the success of the company.
• Draw on experience to successfully negotiate lowest total cost of ownership/best price, OTD, lead times, customer satisfaction, and agility.
• Manage master supply agreement construction from templates, conduct contract reviews, negotiate, execute, monitor and update agreements.
• Manage global supplier performance using scorecards, conduct quarterly supplier performance and business reviews.
• Lead dual sourcing, resourcing and new supplier identification/introduction to achieve Company’s business continuity strategy.
• Communicate category strategy, risk mitigation plans and improvement ideas to key stakeholders.
• Apply oversight and monitor projects associated with assigned key strategic suppliers.
• Support sourcing activities and new supplier introduction.
• Travel Requirements: Up to 25% travel is required.

Skills You Bring:

• Bachelor's degree preferably in Electrical Engineering, Business, or Supply Chain (a master's degree is preferred).
• 5+ years of related experience in Category or Commodity management in Electronics.

Preferred Skills:

• CPIM and/or APICS certification.
• Experience developing supplier and supply chain strategies while concurrently dealing with supplier tactical issues.
• Expertise in Oracle and/or SAP procurement and planning modules.
• Knowledge of or ability to quickly learn details of the semiconductor equipment industry.
• Experience in managing PCBA contract manufacturers and OEM component suppliers.
