Job summary

Celestica is seeking an Engineering Director, Hardware Design to lead and mentor global engineering teams in delivering robust hardware solutions. The role interfaces with customers, manufacturing engineers, and project leadership to ensure quality and manufacturability.

You will guide design improvements based on feedback from manufacturing, reliability, supply chain, and simulations, while staying aligned with Celestica procedures and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master degree in a related engineering field.
• 20+ years of relevant work experience with substantial expertise in project and team management.
• Experience managing teams in a multinational environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement technical solutions for complex projects; participate in planning and scheduling.
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to global engineering teams.
• Oversee non-technical aspects: team management and financial oversight.
• Plan for using leading edge software and equipment with proper funding.
• Review customer specifications; may act as primary customer contact.
• Analyze trade-offs in complex systems; develop deployment strategies.
• Lead global deployment of strategic technical projects and coordinate efforts.
• Manage relationships with vendors and partners.
• Research system concepts; develop and implement designs.
• Design, modify, and implement hardware per Celestica standards.
• Stay updated on industry trends and regulations.
• Solve complex design issues with innovative solutions.
• Collaborate with suppliers, customers, contractors, and internal teams.
