Job description

Our client has a manufacturing site in Penang. The role is reporting to the Head of Global Purchasing.

Responsibilities
  • Define, communicate and implement the commodity strategy in accordance with the global purchasing strategy, and the product roadmap
  • Create alignment and full commitment with stakeholders, such as R&D, GPM, production and quality department at all levels within the company for commodity strategy
  • Analyse relevant procurement markets, technology trends, performance of existing suppliers, cost developments and procurement risks at regular intervals and derive action plans
  • Develop and maintain partnership with future key players to anticipate future internal needs
  • Support suppliers visit and audits
  • Lead and conduct annual/strategic business reviews with key partners.
  • Benchmark existing suppliers to assess cost competitiveness, geo-political risks and identify cost reduction opportunities.
  • Negotiate and renew master agreement and global annual pricing list negotiation
  • Lead supplier communications, including sourcing event invitations, issue resolution, pricing terms negotiations and contracting.
  • Support escalations towards suppliers on request
Qualifications
  • Master degree in Purchasing.
  • Strong know-how of stamping process, heat treatment, winding process, cables manufacturing. Notion of magnetics is a plus.
  • Open mindset and eager to learn.
  • Interest to work in technical environment.
  • Effectiveness to work in a global, multicultural environment and to support sites abroad.
  • Skilled with MS Office Excel, PowerPoint, Projects, Word, MS D365
  • Action oriented, results driven.
  • Motivated and team player, use creative and innovative problem-solving approach
  • Able to communicate in English for daily business speaking and writing, additional language is a plus
