Job summary

A leading mapping technology company is seeking a Vehicle Operator responsible for managing vehicle operations that utilize Lidar and GPS systems to collect data for mapping. The role requires significant travel, potentially averaging 36 weeks per year, and candidates must have at least a two-year technical diploma in Geomatics or GIS. Strong knowledge of computers, GIS, and LiDAR systems is essential. The position is based in Malaysia, Johor, Batu Pahat.

Qualifications

• Two years of GIS survey related field experience is mandatory.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and passport.
• Should be able to lift at least 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Manage the operation of the vehicle using Lidar and GPS instruments.
• Ensure accurate collection of data during field operations.
• Assist in documenting the processes with the Acquisitions Supervisor.

Skills

Extended travel up to 25 days in the field

Experience with Microsoft Office products

Knowledge of computers and GIS

Knowledge of LiDAR systems

Strong decision-making skills

Education

Post-secondary two-year technical diploma in Geomatics or GIS surveying
