Job summary

A leading properties company in Shah Alam seeks a Chief Financial Officer to develop financial strategies, oversee financial functions, and lead a high-performing finance team. The ideal candidate will have a background in accounting, finance, or a related field, along with strong leadership and communication skills. Proficiency in English and Bahasa Malaysia is required, and a professional qualification is preferred.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of post-qualification experience in a senior financial management role.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading a finance function in a complex, fast-paced environment.
  • Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia; Mandarin is an added advantage.

Job description
Responsibilities

Develop and implement financial strategies to support business growth, profitability, and long‑term sustainability.

Oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Oversee all financial functions, including budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cost control.

Treasury Management

Lead cash flow management and capital structure optimisation to support the company’s financial health and growth initiatives.

Ensure the company complies with financial regulations, tax laws, and internal policies while identifying and mitigating financial risks.

Establish and maintain internal controls to prevent financial fraud and enhance transparency.

Stakeholder Management

Effectively communicate financial performance and strategy to the board of directors and key stakeholders, ensuring transparency and trust.

Team Development

Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team to maintain high performance and continuous improvement.

M&A Support

Guide mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures processes, leveraging expertise in financial due diligence and valuation.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A professional qualification (e.g. CPA, ACCA, CFA) is highly preferred.
  • At least 10 years of post‑qualification experience in a senior financial management role.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading a finance function in a complex, fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to interpret financial data and provide strategic recommendations and solutions.
  • Excellent English communication and leadership skills, with ability to be a team player together with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia (with Mandarin is an added advantage).
