Responsibilities
  • The General Manager is responsible for all aspects of operations at the Club, day-to-day staff management, and serves as an ambassador for the brand and the Club.
  • Provide leadership and strategic planning to all departments in support of the service culture, maximized operations and members' satisfaction.
  • Work closely with the Main Committee, Sub-Committees, Sections & Groups and staff.
  • Responsible for managing the Club's management team (HODs) and overall Club targets, delivering an excellent members' experience while balancing profitability and members satisfaction measures.
  • GM duties and responsibilities include:
    • Oversee the operations functions of the Club.
    • Hold regular briefings and meetings with all heads of departments.
    • Ensure full compliance of the Club's operating controls, SOPs, policies, procedures and service standards.
    • Handle complaints and oversee the service recovery procedures.
    • Draw up plans and budget concepts (revenues, costs, etc).
    • Manage ongoing profitability of the Club, ensuring revenue and member satisfaction targets are met and exceeded.
    • Develop improvement actions and carry out cost savings.
    • Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of the Club and management.
    • Develop Club budget goals and set other short- and long-term strategic goals for the Club.
    • Possess a strong understanding of P&L statements and the ability to react with impactful strategies.
    • Coordinate with HODs for the execution of all activities and functions.
    • Oversee and manage all departments and work closely with department heads on a daily basis.
    • Manage and develop the Club's executive team to ensure career progression and development.
    • Be accountable for the responsibilities of department heads and take ownership of all members' complaints.
    • Provide effective leadership to club team members.
    • Lead in all aspects of business planning.
    • Respond to audits to ensure continual improvement is achieved.
    • Determine workforce needs, recruitment and hiring of new staff, provide sufficient introduction, execution, performance reviews and training of staff.
    • Responsible for compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act, fire regulations and other legal requirements.
