A hospitality management firm seeks a General Manager to oversee daily hotel operations in Muar, Johor. Responsibilities include staff management, financial oversight, and ensuring guest satisfaction. Ideal candidates will have 10-15 years of experience in luxury hospitality and a relevant degree. This role requires strong management and leadership skills. Willingness to relocate is essential.
1) The General Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the hotel. This includes managing staff, overseeing finances, ensuring guest satisfaction, and maintaining the overall appearance and functionality of the property.
2) Work with various departments to discuss operational plans to ensure they have what it takes to reach those goals in line with the hotel’s vision and mission.
3) Develop and implement operational policies, strategic plans, and annual operating plans in line with the hotels’ business direction.
4) Take on the role as ambassador for the brand and the hotel.
5) Provide leadership and strategic planning to all departments in support of our service culture, maximized operations and guest satisfaction.
6) Work closely with the hotel owner and other stakeholders.
7) Responsible for managing the Hotels management team (HOD's) and overall hotel targets to deliver an excellent Guest experience.
8) Required to manage between profitability and guest satisfaction measures.
9) Contributes to the organization’s goal by accomplishing related duties as required.
Requirements:
1. A hotel professional with outstanding management skills and extensive hands‑on experience.
2. Possess a deep understanding of the hospitality industry and a commitment to providing excellent service to guests.
3. A university degree in hotel management, hospitality, tourism or the related field.
4. Experienced in opening, managing, and/or re‑positioning a hotel with a clear track record.
5. At least 10 to 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, with significant luxury and international experience, ideally including experience in remote location.
6. Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modelling, leadership technique, and coordination of people and resources.
7. Demonstrates passion and commitment towards organization’s vision and the ability to motivate lead and empower others to achieve organization goals.
8. Willing to relocate to Muar, Johor.
