Job summary

A leading manufacturing company is looking for an experienced General Manager to oversee its full operations in Johor, Malaysia. The ideal candidate will drive factory setup and production management, developing a strong local team and ensuring effective collaboration with HQ. Applicants should have a Bachelor's degree in engineering and over 8 years of experience in the electromechanical manufacturing industry, including at least 3 years in a managerial role. Strong communication skills with fluency in Chinese and Malaysian are required.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of factory operations, production management, cost control, and quality management.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced General Manager to lead the full operations of our manufacturing site in Malaysia. This role will drive factory setup, production management, team development, and cross-border collaboration with HQ.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Business Operations:Align with HQ’s operational requirements and ensure the achievement of annual business targets for the Malaysia factory.
  2. Factory Setup & Local Compliance:Engage with Malaysian customs and government agencies; lead facility renovation, construction, and on-site setup.
  3. Production Management:Build and manage the local operations & production teams; deliver localized manufacturing goals.
  4. Team Leadership:Establish a strong local core team; ensure effective collaboration and integration between China and Malaysia teams.
  5. Other Duties:Execute additional tasks assigned by senior management.
Qualifications
  1. Education & Experience:Bachelor’s degree or above in engineering; 8+ years of experience in the electromechanical manufacturing industry, including 3+ years as a General Manager.
  2. Manufacturing Expertise:Strong understanding of factory operations, production management, cost control, and quality management.
  3. Factory Setup Experience:Proven success in building an electromechanical manufacturing plant from 0 to 1; excellent coordination and communication skills.
  4. Can communication fluent with Chinese and Malaysian colleagues.
  5. Stakeholder Management:Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with HQ and local government authorities; structured and systematic thinking.
