Job description

The General Manager will oversee daily manufacturing operations and its activity by ensuring efficiencies, quality, and productivity across injection moulding, all production assemblies, production engineering and facility maintenance. This role requires strong leadership, process optimization skills and expertise in lean manufacturing to drive operations to excellence and meet customer expectations and perhaps beyond it.

Job Responsibilities
  • Oversee end-to-end production processes, ensuring smooth operations in product assemblies.
  • Oversee Tooling Department, ensuring smooth operation in mould repair and/or fabrication.
  • Oversee production schedules, optimizing resources to meet customer demand and minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies and safety regulations.
  • Monitor and analyse key performance indicators (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement.
  • Implement lean manufacturing principles to enhance efficiency and reduce waste.
Quality & Process Improvement
  • Establish and enforce quality control standards to maintain high product quality and reliability.
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions to resolve quality issues.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance team to implement best practices and process improvements.
Supply Chain & Inventory Management
  • Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure smooth material flow and inventory management.
  • Optimize inventory levels to reduce cost while maintaining production flow.
  • Establish relationships with suppliers to improve material quality and cost efficiency.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead, train and mentor production teams to enhance skill development and performance.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvements, teamwork and accountability.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and set objectives to align team goals with company strategy.
Business Collaboration & Financial Oversight
  • Build strong relationships with cross-functional departments, including R&D, Quality and Sales, to support business objectives.
  • Drive customer satisfaction by ensuring product quality and timely response to issues.
  • Prepare and control plant budgets, identifying and implementing cost-saving measures to drive profitability.
  • Assist superior as required from time to time.
Job Requirements
  • Possess an MBA / Ir. or Bachelor Degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Business Administration or related field equivalently.
  • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of experience in manufacturing operations similar field with at least 5 years in senior leadership role.
  • Knowledgeable in the injection moulding, plastic injection mould and production assembly processes.
  • Proven track record of implementing lean manufacturing and process improvement initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, problem-solving and decision-making skills and capabilities.
  • Possess an excellent communicator and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Well knowledgeable of ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems and Social Compliance Audit requirements.
  • Language proficiency: Fluency in English, Mandarin and Bahasa Malaysia to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders and potentially engage with local/international partners or suppliers.
  • Highly organized with a keen eye for detail and a proactive approach to all stated responsibilities.
