Job description

We are seeking an experienced FX Supervisor to lead our FX team across both prerendered and real-time pipelines, ensuring creative excellence, technical accuracy, and smooth collaboration across departments.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise FX artists across cinematic trailer projects.
  • Oversee creation of realistic and stylized FX: fire, smoke, water, destruction, magic, dust, storms, clouds, etc.
  • Ensure FX quality meets client expectations and project standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Directors, CG Supervisors, Art Directors, Department Leads, Producers, Coordinators and Pipeline teams.
  • Define and maintain FX workflows for both offline (Houdini/Mantra/Arnold/Redshift) and real-time (Unreal Engine/Niagara) pipelines.
  • Ensure proper integration of FX with lighting and compositing.
  • Troubleshoot simulations and optimize performance for rendering and real-time playback.

Requirements:

  • 7+ years in FX for cinematic, film, or game trailers, with 2+ years in a lead or supervisory role.
  • Expert in Houdini and strong knowledge of Unreal Engine (Niagara, shaders, real-time workflows).
  • Experience with Arnold, Redshift, Mantra, or Karma renderers.
  • Strong understanding of compositing, lighting integration, and cross-department pipelines.
  • Strong artistic eye for timing, realism, stylization, and visual storytelling.
  • Familiar with ShotGrid/production trackers and version control (Perforce/Git).
