Overview

Join Genesis Energies as a Graduate Front End & Process Engineer in Kuala Lumpur, contributing to energy transition projects and engineering consultancy.

Your Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Perform engineering analysis to identify optimal solutions and communicate them through technical reports and presentations
  • Carry out techno-economic analyses for energy projects across upstream, mid-stream, downstream, and renewables
  • Work on Energy Transition topics such as Hydrogen, CCUS, Ammonia, Biofuels, and biowaste
  • Support development of new digital tools to improve performance and client value
  • Participate in consulting activities from greenfield to mature assets
  • Consolidate results and methodologies within sound deliverables
  • Liaise with consulting, engineering, business, digital teams, and external partners
  • Perform advisory work in accordance with project and company quality requirements
  • Control discipline engineering activities ensuring safe and operable design compliance
  • Review job scope, estimates, schedules, and relevant discipline data
  • Interface with other engineering disciplines and participate in project presentations
  • Participate in safety, environmental, operational, and design review meetings
  • Provide support and mentorship to junior engineers
  • Engage in global knowledge sharing initiatives within the engineering discipline
  • Lead small discipline engineering teams and/or small projects
About You

The company is looking for:

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering or equivalent
  • Less than 2 years of working experience; fresh graduates encouraged to apply
  • Preferably 1-2 years project design experience in Concept Identification, Feasibility Study, Concept Selection, Conceptual Engineering, and/or FEED (FEL1/2/3) projects
  • Good computer literacy, especially MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Good report writing, communication, and social skills
  • Ability to explain engineering concepts clearly
  • Willingness to work extended hours as needed
  • Strong team collaboration and intellectual ownership of work
  • Integrity, trust, curiosity, drive, and flexibility
  • Good understanding of PFDs, UFDs, P&IDs, H&MB, and process simulation software (HYSYS, Symmetry, etc.)
  • Nice to have: Master’s degree or international equivalent in relevant engineering discipline
  • Industry experience, preferably in front end studies within consultancy, design house, engineering contractor, or operator environment
  • Experience with relevant technical process engineering software
  • Digital skills and appetite, knowledge of project economics, energy transition domain experience, operational support experience, and client environment experience are differentiators
