Job summary

A leading logistics provider in Petaling Jaya is seeking an Import Operations Coordinator. The ideal candidate will manage documentation for imports and coordinate day-to-day activities within the Import department. Applicants should be energetic Malaysian females with a diploma in Shipping Management or Business, and knowledge of sea freight processes. Experience in freight logistics is preferred, but a strong passion for the industry will also be considered. Excellent communication skills and IT proficiency are required.

About the role

This position will report to Import Operations Director. Working within a small but dedicated team, you will be involved in the issuing, certification of all import documentation, including EC certificate of origin.

Duties and Tasks
  • Coordinate day to day operations within the Import department.
  • Liaising with local clients, suppliers and clients/customers.
  • Building ongoing relationships with business clients and internal departments.
  • Ensure import is processed in a controlled and timely manner.
  • Tracking schedule of cargoes/shipments.
  • Check Bill of Lading.
  • Invoicing.
  • Liaising with customers, overseas agents, shipping lines and transport company.
The candidate
  • Malaysian female applicants who are energetic, enthusiastic and pro‑active driven person.
  • Minimum qualification: Diploma in Shipping Management or Business.
  • Experience in import sea freight will be ideal and advantageous.
  • Current knowledge of sea/ocean freight documentation and procedures is a distinct advantage.
  • Good communication skills with strong proficiency in English is required to succeed in this role.
  • Computer literate with strong IT application skills.

Candidates with previous experience in freight logistics or shipping industry will be highly desirable although those without the relevant industry but with strong passion to be associated in the industry are also welcome to apply for the job.
