Job description

Game QA Testers are gaming experts who test video games during the initial development stage. Their job is to detect any bugs or glitches before the game goes on sale. Testers complete all stages of a game, explore every level, and recommend extensions or modifications. They focus on the user experience—identifying boredom points, measuring enjoyment, and tracking victories needed to meet objectives—and on technical issues such as glitches, inconsistencies, and bugs. Games will be tested on multiple platforms, including PC, Xbox One, PS5, Wii, PS Vita, DS, Switch, VR, mobile, and tablet devices.

We will help you earn the responsibilities of a Game QA Tester, including playing multiple AAA titles, detecting bugs, recommending improvements, and learning QA terminology such as playtesting, code release, performance testing, and minimum viable product. This role develops strategic thinking, analysis, reporting, and technical writing skills.

What you’ll be doing:

• Test games and software to find bugs, following plans and checklists set by Test Leads to ensure proper functionality.
• Report bugs into the tracking database and retest once developers fix them, collaborating with colleagues, senior testers, and test leads.
• Provide subjective feedback on the game or software being tested and play to completion.
• Complete all side quests, explore all levels, and locate unanticipated locations.
• Document all glitches and bugs, and collect all points and level up characters.
• Achieve the highest character level by playing with different characters.
• Communicate any issues to the project coordinator and recommend game additions or modifications.
• Rate the game in terms of enjoyment and difficulty.
