Job description
Position : FPSO Lead / Senior Marine Engineer
Industry : Oil and gas & marine engineering
Location : Johor / Project Site / Offshore (as required)
Scope of Works
  • Lead and manage all marine engineering aspects of FPSO projects, including design, analysis, and integration of hull and marine systems.
  • Review and provide technical input on design deliverables, specifications, drawings, and calculations prepared by internal teams or subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with naval architects, structural, piping, and mechanical disciplines to ensure effective interface management.
  • Ensure compliance with classification societies (ABS, DNV, LR, BV) and statutory requirements (MARPOL, SOLAS, IMO).
  • Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of marine systems such as ballast, bilge, cargo offloading, inert gas, and utility systems.
  • Provide technical guidance during dry docking, towing, and offshore installation activities.
  • Conduct stability and hydrostatic analyses, intact/damage stability assessments, and prepare documentation for Class approval.
  • Support risk assessments, HAZID/HAZOP, and technical reviews during all project phases.
  • Liaise with vendors, shipyards, and client representatives to resolve technical queries.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers to develop technical competencies within the team.
Minimum Requirement(s)
  • Bachelors Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10‑15 years of relevant experience, preferably with FPSO design, conversion, or operation projects.
  • Familiar with Class and statutory requirements, and industry standards (API, ISO, IMO, OCIMF).
  • Proven track record in managing marine engineering deliverables within EPC or shipyard environments.
  • Experience in coordinating with multidiscipline teams and client representatives.
