Overview

Huntsman Global Business Services is looking for a dynamic individual as a Fixed Assets Accountant. The Fixed Assets Accountant records the cost of newly acquired fixed assets (tangible and intangible), tracks existing fixed assets, monitors Capital in Progress, records depreciation, and accounts for the disposition of fixed assets. The Fixed Assets Accountant will work closely with stakeholders in multiple countries (e.g., Country Accountant, Local Business & Project Manager) to ensure the accounting service is delivered on time with quality. The role ensures that work is in accordance with US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls. The ideal candidate will be located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

As a Fixed Assets Accountant you will:

  • To ensure the KPI are met
  • To ensure SOX and GAAP compliance
  • To complete month end closing with deadline
  • To complete fixed asset acquisitions and dispositions in the accounting system
  • Track the compilation of project costs into fixed asset accounts, and close out those accounts once the related projects have been completed
  • Reconcile the balance in the fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the summary-level account in the general ledger
  • Calculate and analyze depreciation movement for all fixed assets
  • To maintain the detailed schedule of fixed assets and accumulated depreciation
  • To monitor and track on CIP Projects (Capital In Progress) on the spending and timeframe
  • To support and service business queries and report in timely manner
  • To involve in implementing systems and procedures changes
  • To involve in ad hoc project and migration
  • Assist with requests by internal and/or external audit
What skills and experiences are we looking for?
  • Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent
  • Fresh graduates / half year internship / less than one year accounting working experience
  • Works on assignments/tasks that are moderately complex in nature
  • Works on problems of limited scope. Follows standard practices and procedures in analyzing situations or data from which answers can be readily obtained
  • Using judgement in resolving routine/repetitive problems and making routine recommendations
  • Applies job skills, company policies and procedures to complete tasks
  • MS Office and Excel products
  • Able to work under tight deadline
  • Able to prioritize tasks
  • Have good written and communication skill
  • Handle self well in a stressful situation
