Job summary

A leading financial institution in Kuala Lumpur seeks a First Vice President for Finance & Accounting to oversee financial and regulatory reporting in line with standards. The ideal candidate will support governance standards, manage relationships with auditors and regulators, and ensure compliance with tax regulations. A minimum of 5 years of relevant banking experience is required.

Qualifications

  • Be familiar with International accounting standards and local standards.
  • Knowledge of Malaysia Tax laws (GST, SST, Corporate income tax).
  • Experience in Financial Accounting and banking for over 5 years.
  • Skilled in resolving Accounting system issues.
  • Experience in Asset and Liability Management.

Job description
First Vice President, Finance & Accounting

Oversee the financial reporting and regulatory reporting to ensure the reports are prepared in accordance with accounting standards and regulatory policies with relevant local standards and policies;

Support senior management, Finance head and teams in ensuring appropriate governance standards for regulatory and financial reporting are applied, including presenting to Board Committees and regulators;

Oversee and review related reports in CCBs overseas core‑business system relating to the operation and regulatory reporting;

Lead in the relationship with external auditors, regulators (BNM, PIDM, IRB) and consultants; to liaise with regulators, head office and other statutory bodies to ensure a smooth working relationship with these authorities;

Support division head in asset and liability management and related reporting;

Review and update related procedures periodically to keep abreast with the changes in HO policies, regulatory authority and market practices;

Oversee the Banks statutory tax compliance activities such as tax accounting and reporting, daily tax management activities, corporate tax provision, tax return and documentation, transfer pricing documentation.

Job Requirements
  • Be familiar with International accounting standards and Malaysia local accounting standards and Financial Reporting Rules of BNM;
  • Be familiar with Malaysia Tax laws and rules (GST, SST, Corporate income tax, withholding tax and etc);
  • Be familiar with Financial Accounting, general ledger and tax (corporate tax, GST, withholding tax) management with related banking working experience over 5 years;
  • Skilled in dealing with Accounting system problems;
  • ALM experience (Capital, liquidity, Basel related).
