Job summary

ExxonMobil Malaysia is seeking a cost-focused IT professional to manage cloud financials and drive optimization across AWS and Azure. The role emphasizes data analysis, visualization, and cost-saving strategies to steward IT expenditures while aligning with business goals.

You will design cost-efficient cloud solutions, automate cost-management tasks, and coordinate FinOps initiatives with cross-functional teams to enable informed decisions and governance.

Qualifications

• Degree in IT or equivalent.
• Proficiency in AWS/Azure cost management.
• Strong data analysis and visualization skills.
• Knowledge of cloud cost-saving strategies (e.g., savings plans, RI, spot instances).
• Experience scripting to automate cost management (PowerShell/Python/Bash/SQL).
• Self-starter with strong communication and planning skills.

Job description

• Proficiency in AWS and/or Azure, including their cost management tools (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management).
• Strong skills in data analysis and visualization tools and concepts (e.g., Excel, Power BI, Tableau) to interpret cloud usage and cost data.
• Knowledge of cloud cost-saving strategies such as savings plans, reserved instances, spot instances, and rightsizing resources.
• Understanding of cloud architecture principles to design cost-efficient solutions.
• Experience with scripting/programming languages like PowerShell, Python, Bash, SQL, Azure Data Factory, or to automate cost management tasks.
• Self-starter and self-motivated
• Interpersonal and Negotiation skills - ability to effectively interact with staff, peers, and management
• Planning and Coordination skills - ability to effectively multi-task and progress many work items in parallel
• Strong technical writing and communication skills (document and communicate design concepts and conduct trainings)
• Degree in IT or equivalent

Preferred Qualifications/ Experience

• Familiarity with Agile or Scrum methodologies for cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to manage FinOps initiatives as projects with timelines and deliverables.
• Experience integrating cost controls into CI/CD pipelines
