Financial Controller (Construction Industry)

We are representing our client a public listed infrastructure and building construction specialist. With the recent listing in Bursa Malaysia's LEAP Market, they are aiming to capitalize on development in Johor and Klang Valley.

Work Location: Melaka
Working Hours: Mon-Fri (9am-5pm) and 1st week of Saturday (9am-1pm)

Responsibilities

Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.

Develop strategies to optimize the company’s financial performance and positioning.

Lead financial risk management, including managing capital structure, debt, and liquidity.

Provide strategic recommendations to the top management based on financial analysis and projections.

Corporate Governance and Compliance:

Ensure the company complies with financial regulations and accounting standards.

Establish and maintain internal financial controls and reporting systems.

Work closely with the Board of Directors on financial strategy, risk management, and corporate governance matters.

Investor Relations:

Manage relationships with investors, analysts, and other key stakeholders.

Lead the development of investor communications, including quarterly earnings reports and annual reports.

Ensure consistent and transparent communication with shareholders post-IPO.

Team Leadership and Development:

Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring alignment with the company's strategic goals.

Foster a high-performing finance team capable of scaling with the company’s growth.

Qualifications:

Possess Professional Accounting Certification or membership such as ACCA/CPA/MIA etc.

Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.

Excellent communication and presentation skills, with experience in dealing with investors and the board of directors.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Preferred Experience:

Currently holding a senior management position i.e. Financial Controller/Senior Finance Manager from the construction industry.

Experience in public listed companies.

Well-verse with Bursa reportings.
