Job description

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Financial Controller to lead the company’s financial readiness for an Initial Public Offering (IPO) on Bursa Malaysia. This role is pivotal in strengthening our financial governance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and establishing the reporting and control environment required of a listed entity. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in financial reporting, corporate governance, Bursa Malaysia and Securities Commission (SC) compliance, and working with external advisors throughout the IPO journey.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead the finance workstream for the company’s IPO on Bursa Malaysia, working closely with the Principal Adviser, auditors, reporting accountants, legal counsel, and company secretary.
  • Coordinate and manage the preparation of IPO financial documentation, including audited financial statements, Accountants’ Report, Management Discussion & Analysis (MD&A), and Prospectus sections.
  • Ensure compliance with Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements and Securities Commission (SC) Guidelines on IPOs.
  • Support financial due diligence, valuation, and submission processes.
  • Develop and implement internal financial controls, governance frameworks, and risk management structures in line with public company expectations.
  • Strengthen finance systems and reporting processes to ensure readiness for post-listing obligations.
  • Oversee preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS) and IFRS.
  • Manage the external audit process, ensuring timely completion and full compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure accurate and timely Bursa Malaysia periodic disclosures (e.g., quarterly announcements, annual reports, and corporate governance statements).
  • Establish and maintain robust internal control systems and accounting policies.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax agents, company secretary, regulators, and other stakeholders.
  • Support the company in developing financial models, forecasting, and capital structure planning to support the IPO and future growth.
  • Lead budgeting, variance analysis, and financial performance tracking across business units.
  • Provide financial insights to management and the Board to drive data-based decision making.
  • Build and develop a high-performing finance team with the competencies required for a listed environment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline.
  • Professional qualification such as CPA, CA, ACCA, or MIA membership required.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive finance experience, with at least 3–5 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Proven experience in IPO preparation (preferably on Bursa Malaysia or another major exchange) or working in a listed company environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of MFRS, IFRS, Companies Act 2016, Bursa Listing Requirements, and SC regulatory guidelines.
  • Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and analytical skills.
  • Hands‑on leadership with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced setting.
