The Financial Analyst – Projects will be responsible for supporting the financial planning, analysis, and reporting for various projects within the organization. This role involves evaluating project feasibility, budgeting, forecasting, and risk assessment to ensure financial efficiency and strategic alignment. The ideal candidate should have strong analytical skills, experience in project finance, and the ability to provide actionable financial insights.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct financial analysis and modeling to evaluate project feasibility, ROI, and cost-benefit analysis.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Analyze financial performance metrics and provide recommendations for optimization.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in the preparation of project budgets and financial forecasts.
- Track and monitor actual project expenditures against budgets, identifying variances and areas for cost control.
- Support in scenario analysis and sensitivity testing for financial projections.
- Identify financial risks associated with projects and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and project funding requirements.
- Support audits and due diligence processes related to project finance.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Work closely with project managers, finance teams, and external stakeholders to ensure financial alignment.
- Prepare and present financial reports, project status updates, and recommendations to senior management.
- Support funding negotiations and liaise with banks, investors, or grant providers where applicable.
Qualifications and Experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A professional qualification (CFA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA) or an MBA in Finance is a plus.
Experience
- 3+ years of experience in financial analysis, preferably in project finance.
- Experience in financial modeling, budgeting, and cost control for projects.
- Knowledge of project finance structures, funding mechanisms, and risk assessment.
