Role Summary

The Financial Analyst – Corporate Finance (Corporate Services) is responsible for supporting the MSC Group’s finance function through high-quality financial analysis, management reporting, and assistance in preparing corporate plan. This role provides analytical and reporting support for group entities and business units, including Fund Administration, Corporate Trust, Custody, and Registry Services, and assists senior management in decision‑making relating to business performance, investments, and operational efficiency. The position is based in MSC Group’s Kuala Lumpur office and works closely with the Australian finance and management teams to ensure the Group’s financial objectives, controls, and reporting standards are met. Reporting Team Lead/ Manager in KL office.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Analysis & Reporting

· Prepare comprehensive financial reports, management analysis, and commentary for group entities and business units.

· Assist in preparing consolidated monthly and quarterly management reports for the Group, ensuring all reports are completed accurately and on time.

· Analyze financial performance and identify key business drivers, highlighting risks and opportunities for management consideration.

· Support the preparation of board and executive management reports, including conducting variance analysis and creating performance dashboards.

· Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure the accuracy and consistency of data utilized in financial reporting.

Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning

· Participate in the Group’s annual budgeting and quarterly reforecasting processes.

· Work with business unit leaders to gather, validate, and consolidate budget data.

· Monitor actual performance against budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and insightful commentary.

· Support financial planning for staffing, technology, and operational investments.

· Assist in the development and ongoing maintenance of financial models to inform strategic business decisions and corporate planning.

Governance, Compliance & Process Improvement

· Ensure financial reporting processes are in line with MSC Group’s internal controls, accounting standards, and policies.

· Contribute to the implementation of process improvements to enhance efficiency and reporting accuracy.

· Support internal and external audit requests and maintain compliance with relevant reporting requirements.

· Participate in the development of performance metrics and financial dashboards for business management.

Qualifications and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

· Professional qualification or progression towards CA, CPA, or CFA. Will be added advantage

· Experience in multi‑entity or shared service environments.

· Exposure to fund administration, corporate trust, or custody operations will be added advantage.

· Strong analytical and problem‑solving ability.
High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Commercial acumen and strong understanding of financial drivers.

· Collaborative mindset with effective communication skills.
Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver within deadlines.
Self‑motivated, proactive, and able to work independently within a group structure.
