A banking institution in Malaysia is seeking a candidate for an accounting role responsible for preparing accurate reports and ensuring compliance with banking regulations. The ideal applicant will have 3-5 years of experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are essential. Apply if you have proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word and are ready for ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Responsible for the preparation and timely submission of all reports to management, regulators and related stakeholders.
Prepare all reports with accuracy, adhering to related Bank's policy, BNM guidelines, accounting standards and related requirements.
Assist to resolve operating errors/problems through correction and taking appropriate action in order to prevent recurrence.
To investigate and report discrepancy and irregularity arising from transaction/General Ledger balance.
Ensure routine operations conforms to established rules, policies and procedures in accordance to reporting requirements, in an efficient and accurate manner.
Maintain the confidentiality of Bank and customer information.
Ensure compliance to the Bank's compliance program and to report any unusual or suspicious transactions. Ensure all record-keeping and operating practices confirm to established rules and procedures.
To process and ensure timeliness, accuracy and correctness of all details and processes on all reports prepared.
Insourcing
Ensure smooth generation on all reports or accounting operation function insourced is executed according to the Service Level Agreement or Head Office operational procedures and local and foreign policies.
Liaise with insourced branch/subsidiary on reporting operation and reporting function.
Others
To perform other duties as assigned by the management.
To perform ad-hoc matters as assigned by Head of Department.
To cover duties of other staff members in his/her absence.
To participate in projects when assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Minimum experience of 3-5 years.
At least Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Finance.
Good knowledge of MFRS, IFRS, Bank Negara Malaysia's Guidelines, tax law/requirements.
Good written and verbal communication, attentive, reliable, analytical skills, interpersonal skills, highly organized with good time management.
Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word.
