Job description
Responsibilities
  • Manage overall accounting, budgeting and finance functions.
  • Maintain inventory of school assets and ensure their security.
  • Establish policies and procedures for purchase and disposal of school assets in line with MCOE SOPs.
  • Advise Principal on all financial matters and report on financial feasibility of projects.
Procurement
  • Coordinate procurement function and develop procurement policies, in school. This includes vetting of vendor contracts/agreements.
  • Coordinate purchasing of goods and services ensuring accurate stock and inventory control systems and safeguards are maintained.
  • Ensure optimum inventory level of all supplies by monitoring stock movement.
Others
  • Work towards and support the mission, values and Christian ethos of the school and the school objectives.
  • Attend and contribute to meetings as appropriate.
  • Perform any other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time.
Job and Person Specification

Essential Specification (Must-have)

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Accountancy/Banking or equivalent.
  • At least 3 years working experience in leading a finance team.
  • Good English written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good problem‑solving skills and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good IT skills (MS Excel skills, financial software).
  • Good team player with leadership experience.
  • Able to work independently.
  • Solid accounting & internal control skills & tax knowledge.

Desirable Specification (Added advantage)

  • Knowledge of SAGE accounting software.
  • Previous experience in an educational setting.
