Finance Officer - Financial Services

Location

Kuching, Sarawak

Job Summary

The role involves managing trade debtors, accounts receivables, accounts payables, procurement operations, and other financial functions. The officer will support digitalisation initiatives, ensure compliance with tax regulations, and assist in financial reporting and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage student fee collection and explore new payment channels to improve service.
  2. Monitor debtor KPIs, coordinate with relevant teams for data accuracy, and pursue overdue accounts.
  3. Process invoices, credit notes, and debt collection for other receivables and ensure timely collection.
  4. Handle payments to creditors, including processing, verification, and compliance with policies.
  5. Oversee procurement activities, including purchase orders, supplier liaising, and database maintenance.
  6. Perform other financial functions such as corporate credit card payments, funding releases, and audit preparations.
  7. Support digitalisation of finance systems and ensure legal and statutory compliance, especially regarding Malaysian tax laws.
  8. Assist in tax planning, assessment, and handling queries or audits related to service tax, corporate tax, and withholding tax.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related field, or a Diploma with relevant experience.
  • Experience in finance, accounting, or audit environment is preferred.
  • Proficiency in financial software (Oracle, SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) and MS Office tools.
  • Strong analytical, report writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to dynamic work environments.
