This position acts as a key finance partner to both the Malaysia operations leadership and the regional finance team, ensuring accurate reporting, robust internal controls, and effective communication between manufacturing finance and group headquarters in Singapore.

The role is central to driving financial integrity, operational efficiency, and alignment of reporting standards across the Group.

Key Responsibilities
1. Group Consolidation & Reporting

Support the Regional Finance Manager in preparing and reviewing monthly and year-end group consolidated financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local reporting standards.

Oversee intercompany reconciliations, eliminations, and foreign currency translations.

Coordinate with Malaysia, Singapore, and China teams to ensure timely and accurate group submissions.

Prepare management reports and variance analyses for regional and group review.

2. Finance Operations (Malaysia Manufacturing Entities)

Lead the full spectrum of finance and accounting for Malaysia entities, including AP, AR, GL, and payroll.

Ensure timely and accurate monthly closing and reporting in accordance with MPERS and group accounting policies.

Implement consistent accounting standards and ensure compliance with internal and external reporting requirements.

3. Product Costing & Inventory Accounting

Oversee standard costing, variance analysis, and BOM accuracy for manufacturing operations.

Analyze and explain material usage, labour, and overhead variances.

Partner with production and supply chain teams to identify cost‑saving opportunities and improve operational margins.

4. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)

Support group budgeting and forecasting processes by consolidating Malaysia data and providing variance explanations.

Partner with the Regional FM in analyzing business performance, margins, and KPIs across entities.

Provide insights and recommendations to management for decision‑making and performance improvement.

5. Cash Flow & Treasury

Manage cash flow forecasting and liquidity planning for Malaysia entities.

Work with the regional team on intercompany funding, loan arrangements, and foreign exchange management.

Monitor working capital metrics and propose improvement measures.

6. Taxation, Audit & Compliance

Ensure compliance with Malaysian statutory requirements (SST, MPERS, income tax, customs).

Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and regulatory bodies to ensure accurate and timely submissions.

Support regional tax and audit processes through documentation and reporting consistency.

7. Internal Controls & Process Improvement

Strengthen internal control frameworks across finance operations and manufacturing processes.

Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and system enhancements (e.g., ERP optimization).

Promote financial discipline and governance culture across the team.

Lead and mentor the Malaysia finance team to achieve accuracy, accountability, and efficiency.

Work closely with the Regional FM as a “team buddy” — ensuring mutual support in consolidation, analysis, and regional coordination.

Foster collaboration between country finance teams and Singapore HQ to ensure seamless group reporting.

9. Ad-Hoc Projects

Participate in group-level initiatives such as ERP implementation, automation, business integration, and due diligence activities.

Support the Regional FM and Head of Group Finance in strategic projects that enhance profitability and operational performance.

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

Professional qualification such as ACCA, CPA, or CA is required.

Minimum 8 years of relevant experience, including 3+ years in a manufacturing or group finance environment.

Hands‑on experience in group consolidation, product costing, and management reporting.

Solid knowledge of IFRS, MPERS, and local tax regulations.

Proficient in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or Business Central) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros, advanced formulas).
