The Finance Manager will oversee the day-to-day financial operations of the company, including accounting, bookkeeping, financial reporting, and compliance. This role ensures accurate and timely financial information to support decision‑making and strategic planning. The Finance Manager will work closely with the Director of Finance to maintain strong internal controls, ensure compliance with statutory requirements, and contribute to the company’s financial health and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Consolidate financial reports across divisions and entities.
- Conduct variance analysis, identifying key drivers and recommending corrective actions.
- Manage cash flow, working capital, and budgeting to ensure operational liquidity.
- Support the Director of Finance in financial planning, forecasting, and strategic reporting.
- Oversee full sets of accounts, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
- Maintain proper documentation and record‑keeping for all financial transactions.
- Ensure timely month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
- Supervise and guide accounting staff to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax agents, and government bodies when required.
3. Budgeting & Cost Control
- Assist in the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets and department‑level budgets.
- Track expenses against budget, and provide insights for cost optimization.
- Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets.
4. Compliance & Governance
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal financial policies.
- Oversee GST/SST submissions, corporate tax filings, and statutory reporting.
- Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant financial legislation and standards.
5. Systems & Process Improvement
- Work with the Director of Finance to streamline financial systems and workflows.
- Support implementation of new accounting software or ERP systems.
- Identify opportunities to automate processes and improve reporting accuracy.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent.
- Minimum 5–8 years of relevant experience in accounting, auditing, or finance.
- Professional certifications such as ACCA, CPA, or equivalent are an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles (IFRS/MFRS/SFRS) and tax compliance.
- Proficient in accounting software (e.g., SQL, Xero, QuickBooks, SAP, etc.) and Microsoft Excel.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work independently under tight deadlines.
