This is an exciting opportunity to join Skynet Worldwide Express (Asia Pacific )' as a Finance Manager in our Kuala Lumpur office offshore office. As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for leading the preparation and analysis of financial reports, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and driving continuous process improvement. This is a full-time, permanent position.
Provides accurate, timely, reliable and complete financial information to management by researching and analyzing accounting data; preparing reports, performing cost analysis, cost budgets, transactional processing and close, consolidate, and reporting procedures.
Executes on the financial reporting, budgeting and accounting function for Skynet HKG
Planning, Studying, and collecting data to determine costs of business activity such as purchases, inventory, labor, overtime, fuel, owner driver costs etc
Analyzing changes in business activity, direct costs, or services provided, to determine effects on costs and profitability
Review company expenses, procurement for accuracy of costs
Perform scenario analysis to determine possible future cost and profitability structures
Design a costing model to assist and support the revenue assurance function. Costing model to include benchmarks and targets related to recovery rates, overhead absorption rates, relevant costs etc
Maintaining Cost Accounting System
Provide timeous recommendations to management with regards to cost analysis
Assist in the preparation of branch, company and group budgets, forecasts, benchmarks, etc
Prepare monthly journal entries as well as Balance Sheet and Creditor reconciliations
Analyse monthly profit and loss statements for all and all business units
Perform variance analysis on all GL accounts
Documents financial transactions by entering account information.
Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
Summarizes current financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports that management may require.
Responds and addresses financial audit queries.
Substantiates financial transactions by auditing documents.
Maintains accounting controls by preparing and recommending policies and procedures.
Guides accounting clerical staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
Maintains financial security by following internal controls.
Complies with financial legal requirements (including Tax, Vat, IFRS etc) by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
Prepares special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting Degree
Qualified accountant (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, CPA) with 8+ years' post-qualification experience
Significant experience in a finance manager or senior finance role, preferably within the logistics/transportation industry
Proven track record of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis
Excellent knowledge of accounting standards, tax regulations and financial compliance requirements
Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to mentor and develop a high-performing team
Proficient in using financial reporting and analysis tools (e.g. Excel, PowerBI, SAP)
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information for non-finance audiences
Computer Literate – Strong Excel skills and the ability to use Outlook and Word
knowledge and experience in logistics , freight forwarding , supply chain will be an advantage.
