Responsibilities
  • Core Accounting & Bookkeeping
    • Process accounts payable (AP): Verify, code, and post supplier invoices; prepare and perform payment runs (cheques, bank transfers).
    • Process accounts receivable (AR): Generate and issue customer invoices; monitor customer accounts for timely collections; apply customer payments.
    • Manage the petty cash fund and perform periodic reconciliations.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the accounting system SQL.
    • Perform bank reconciliations and resolve any discrepancies in a timely manner.
    • Handle employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Financial Reporting & Reconciliation
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow).
    • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes.
    • Prepare and post journal entries for accruals, prepayments, and depreciation.
    • Reconcile key balance sheet accounts (e.g., bank accounts, credit cards, vendor statements).
    • Assist with internal and external audit requests by providing supporting documentation.
  • Administrative & Compliance Support
    • Maintain an organized and systematic filing system for all financial documents, both physical and digital.
    • Prepare and submit statutory filings such as Sales Tax returns.
    • Manage vendor and customer master data, ensuring information is accurate and current.
    • Provide general administrative support to the Finance Manager or department head.
  • Additional Responsibilities for a Senior Finance Executive / Analyst
    • 4. Financial Analysis & Business Support
      • Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes by gathering data and preparing initial drafts.
      • Perform variance analysis, comparing actual results to budgets and forecasts, and investigating significant differences.
      • Prepare routine management reports (KPIs, dashboards) to aid decision-making.
      • Analyze costs and identify opportunities for cost-saving and efficiency improvements.
      • Support financial modeling and analysis for business cases or new projects.
    • 5. Process Improvement & Systems
      • Identify and recommend improvements to financial processes, controls, and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
      • Participate in the implementation of new financial software or systems.
      • Help document and update finance department procedures.
