Job summary

A recruitment and staffing firm in Kuala Lumpur is looking for a finance associate to manage invoices, payroll data, and compliance documentation. Responsibilities include ensuring accurate financial records, assisting with monthly payroll preparation, and supporting statutory submissions. The ideal candidate will hold a relevant degree and have at least 2 years of experience in finance or accounting, with a solid understanding of Malaysian laws and regulations. Strong Excel skills and attention to detail are essential for this role.

Responsibilities

Prepare, verify, and process invoices, payment vouchers, and staff claims.

Assist in accounts payable & accounts receivable tasks.

Perform bank reconciliation and monitor cash flow.

Maintain accurate financial records and ensure all documents are up-to-date.

Assist in month-end closing activities and preparation of financial reports.

Support auditors by providing required documents and information.

Payroll Support

Assist in preparing monthly payroll data (attendance, overtime, allowances, deductions).

Verify employee timesheets and ensure accuracy before payroll processing.

Coordinate with HR for new joiners, resignations, and employee data updates.

Maintain confidentiality of payroll information.

Prepare payroll-related reports: EPF, SOCSO, EIS, PCB, annual tax forms, etc.

Support statutory submissions and ensure compliance with Malaysia Labour Laws.

Administrative & Compliance Support

Maintain proper filing system (digital & physical) for finance and payroll documents.

Prepare management reports when required.

Assist in implementing financial and payroll SOPs to improve workflow.

Handle ad-hoc finance and HR tasks assigned by management.

Requirements

Diploma / Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or equivalent.

Minimum 2 years’ experience in finance or accounting practice.

Basic knowledge of Malaysian payroll, statutory contributions, and labour regulations.

Proficient in Microsoft Excel & any basic accounting software (e.g., SQL, AutoCount, Xero, MYOB).

Good attention to detail, strong sense of confidentiality, and good time-management skills.

Able to work independently and meet deadlines.

Nice to Have

Basic experience handling full-set accounts or partial accounts.

Some experience using HR/payroll systems
