Job description

We are representing one of our clients in the Education Industry- International School. They are currently hiring for Finance Director. The Director of Finance partners closely with the Top Management and Board to develop and execute financial strategies, ensure regulatory compliance, manage financial risks, and drive informed decision-making across the School.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic & Financial Leadership
  • Develop and implement comprehensive financial strategies aligned with the School’s objectives, growth plans, and long-term sustainability.
  • Act as a key advisor to Top Management on financial planning, investments, risk management, and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and insightful financial analysis to support data-driven decision-making.
Financial Management & Reporting
  • Oversee all financial operations including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis.
  • Prepare, monitor, and manage the School’s annual budget in collaboration with Top Management.
  • Ensure accurate financial records and reporting in compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct budget forecasts, variance analysis, and financial performance reviews, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Identify cost optimization opportunities and revenue‑enhancing strategies to improve financial performance.
  • Manage year‑end statutory audits, tax filings, and ensure timely submission in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Management & Leadership Responsibilities
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high‑performing finance team, fostering a culture of financial discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Prepare and present financial projections, annual budgets, and financial reports to Top Management and the Board.
  • Ensure timely reconciliation of accounts and adherence to internal controls, policies, and procedures.
  • Stay up to date with changes in financial regulations, accounting standards, and government requirements, implementing necessary updates.
Treasury & Cash Management
  • Manage the School’s cash flow, liquidity, and capital allocation to ensure optimal financial health.
  • Oversee banking relationships, financing arrangements, and investment activities.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate financial risks, including currency, interest rate, and liquidity risks.
  • Manage the School’s capital structure, including debt and equity financing, to support strategic initiatives and long‑term value.
Internal Controls, Risk & Compliance
  • Establish, maintain, and continuously enhance a robust system of internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure compliance.
  • Review and improve financial processes, policies, and procedures to strengthen governance and operational efficiency.
  • Lead financial risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Coordinate and oversee internal and external audit processes.
  • Promote a strong culture of ethical conduct, transparency, and financial governance across the School.
Requirements
  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, ACCA, or CIMA is required.
  • Minimum 15 years of professional experience, including at least 6 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Prior audit experience is an added advantage.
