Job description

This is a leadership role, with a requirement for the candidate to get hands on from time to time.

The Financial Director is responsible for designing structures to manage all financial transactions, P&L, financial reports, daily cash float for reception staff and all administrative functions related to the finance department. Sole responsible for the safe operation ensuring accurate handling. Preparation for money transfers from ship to shore. Ensuring smooth operations in guest accounts, financial reporting, foreign currency exchange, customs compliance, and assists the crew purser with the crew payroll. The role requires strong leadership in managing the front-desk operations, financial control, and coordination with other departments to ensure seamless guest experiences. This position requires absolute discretion.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implementing financial and accounting structure of the company, both for the hospitality side and the casino.
  • Design structures to oversee guest services, financial transactions, and onboard revenue management.
  • Ensuring accuracy in billing, cash handling, and financial reporting.
  • Design structures to support guest check-in/check-out operations, ensuring smooth embarkation and disembarkation processes from payment perspective.
  • Oversee and assists crew payroll and financial compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with customs, immigration, and maritime financial regulations.
  • Works closely with the Hotel Controller.
  • Handle foreign currency exchange and financial reconciliation of all onboard transactions.
  • Assist external auditors to ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Assist guests with account queries if needed.
  • Implement and oversee onboard financial technology systems for transaction tracking.
  • Lead the team to maintain detailed financial reports and revenue analysis for Hotel Manager and ship management.
  • Collaborate with other departments, such as Casino Director, F&B, and retail operations, to optimize revenue collection and guest satisfaction.
Key Requirements & Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in financial or Accounting management, preferably in cruise, or maritime industries.
  • Experiences in Casino business is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of financial reporting, revenue management, and compliance with maritime financial regulations.
  • Experience managing guest service operations and front-desk financial transactions.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations and multitask effectively.
  • Proficiency in financial software MXP, point-of-sale (POS) systems, and guest account management tools.
  • Familiarity with customs, immigration, and international maritime regulations is a plus.
