Position Overview
We are now hiring a Finance Business Partner (Full-time Remote) in Johor Bahru, Malaysia to take ownership of financial operations, reporting, and advisory support. This role will directly contribute to business decision-making, ensuring transparency, compliance, and long-term growth.
- Provide analytical and technical financial/accounting support.
- Manage diverse duties across departments within finance and accounting.
- Build, examine, and compile weekly and monthly financial statements and reports.
- Ensure precision, detail orientation, and advanced use of Microsoft Excel in daily work.
- Operate independently with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of corporate income tax, indirect tax, withholding tax, and transfer pricing is an advantage.
- Collaborate closely with regional stakeholders across Southeast Asia.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with business teams to plan and execute financial strategies and projects.
- Prepare and review financial statements, consolidate accounts, and manage forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting.
- Draft budgets, income statements, balance sheets, and regulatory reports.
- Assist with tax returns and ensure compliance with accounting standards and local regulations.
- Manage risks in financial activities and evaluate business performance.
- Estimate short- and long-term financial objectives and track company KPIs.
- Provide insights and financial analysis to support decision-making and ROI evaluation.
- Handle ad-hoc duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Skills Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- Professional accounting certifications (CPA, CA, or equivalent) are an added bonus.
- Background in Big 4 accounting firms, or proven experience as an Accountant, Finance Assistant, or similar role.
- Strong experience with preparing and managing complex financial statements.
- Advanced MS Excel skills and proficiency with accounting software.
- Comprehensive understanding of bookkeeping, accounting, and finance procedures.
- Experience building P&L and balance sheets from GL level.
- Excellent time-management and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Language skills: English, Chinese, Indonesian.
