Senior / Finance Business Partner (Managerial / Senior Managerial)

Position Summary

As a Finance Business Partner, you would be covering manufacturing, logistics, R&D and shared services, you will play a pivotal role in driving financial performance, operational efficiency, and strategic decision making. As part of the local management team of the production plant in JB, you will act as a trusted advisor to the managing director of the production site and collaborate closely with other subsidiaries in the APAC region and beyond to implement the Group strategy. You will lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A), capital expenditure (CapEx) management, cost optimization initiatives, and risk management. This role requires strong business acumen, manufacturing and supply chain finance expertise, and the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Finance & Business Partnering
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to manufacturing leadership, providing insights to support decision-making on operational and strategic level.
  • Drive short, mid and long-term financial planning aligned with Group business strategy, including capacity expansion, automation, and other initiatives.
  • Lead financial evaluation of CapEx investments, including ROI analysis, scenario modeling, and risk assessments.
  • Partner with Operations, Engineering, and R&D to identify cost-saving opportunities and support product cost-down initiatives.
  • Provide financial leadership and take on project management responsibility in cross-functional projects such as footprint optimization, and digital transformation.
  • Lead risk management initiatives, including identification, assessment, and mitigation of financial and operational risks.
  • Support business continuity planning and crisis management for plant operations.
Performance Management, Controlling & Supply Chain Finance
  • Lead monthly performance reviews and reporting, highlighting key variances, root causes, and corrective actions across the organization.
  • Lead planning processes like forecasting, budgeting and mid-term planning in alignment with the function and Group stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with site leadership on ad hoc reviews and complex financial analyses.
  • Drive inventory management and working capital optimization, including monitoring of inventory levels, turnover, and obsolescence.
Compliance & Process Improvement
  • Strengthen internal controls and governance across manufacturing finance processes.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, accounting standards, audit requirements, and local regulatory requirements in Malaysia.
  • Champion continuous improvement in financial and administrative processes, leveraging automation and digital tools.
Leadership, Stakeholder & Change Management
  • Foster a collaborative working relationship with internal and external stakeholders, including suppliers, auditors, and regulators, to achieve shared objectives.
  • Mentor and develop finance team members, promoting a culture of accountability and innovation.
  • Lead change management efforts related to finance transformation and beyond.
  • Promote digital transformation in finance, including adoption of advanced analytics, automation, and ERP enhancements.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field; professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA, CIMA) preferred.
  • 9-10 years or more of progressive experience in finance, with strong exposure to manufacturing, supply chain or industrial environments.
  • Proven expertise in cost controlling, working capital management, risk management, and strategic business partnering.
  • Proficiency in SAP, advanced Excel, and digital finance tools.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across different functions, cultures, and geographies.
