Job summary

PPG Industries in Malaysia is seeking a Finance Analyst - Automation and Analytics to partner with Finance teams, identifying opportunities to automate manual processes, boost productivity, accuracy, and controls while keeping proper documentation and audit trails.

You will design and develop solutions using Excel, VBA, Power Query, Power BI, and Power Automate, working with IT and finance users to implement practical, sustainable improvements that drive performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in IT, CS, IS, finance, accounting, engineering, business, or related field.
• 1+ years in IT, business analysis, automation, finance operations, or related field.
• Familiarity with Excel, VBA, Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, SQL, or SAP.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Finance users to understand processes and gather improvement requirements.
• Document process flows, requirements, controls, and solution designs.
• Develop and implement automation with Excel, VBA, Power Query, Power BI, Power Automate.
• Support automation projects like bank reconciliations and journal entry prep.
• Collaborate with IT to implement suitable solutions.
• Maintain documentation and provide user training and ongoing improvements.

Finance Analyst - Automation and Analytics

You will partner with Finance teams to identify opportunities to automate manual processes, improving productivity, accuracy, and controls while maintaining appropriate documentation and audit trails. You will combine business analysis, solution design, and hands‑on development using existing technologies such as Microsoft Excel, VBA, Power BI, and Power Automate. You will work with Finance users, IT teams, and management to provide practical, sustainable solutions that enhance our performance. You will be reporting to APAC Shared Service Center Director with a functional reporting line to MYTC Leader

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with Finance users to understand business processes, identify pain points, and gather requirements for improvement opportunities.
• Document our process flows, business requirements, controls, and solution designs.
• Develop and implement automation solutions using Microsoft Excel, VBA, Power Query, Power BI, Power Automate, and other approved tools.
• Support Finance automation projects such as bank reconciliations, journal entry preparation, intercompany recharges, intercompany reconciliations, GRIR reconciliations, and reporting automation.
• Collaborate with IT teams to implement the most appropriate solutions.
• Maintain solution documentation, provide user training and support continuous improvements to existing solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, Business, or related discipline.
• 1+ years of experience in IT, business analysis, process improvement, automation, finance operations, or related fields.
• Knowledge of and interest in process automation and business process improvement.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, VBA, Power Query, Power BI, Power Automate, SharePoint, SQL, or SAP is preferred.
• Analytical, and documentation skills with the ability to understand and translate our requirements into practical solutions.
• Passionate about applying technology to make business processes more efficient, effective, and user‑friendly.
• Ability to read and write Chinese is an added advantage.
