Overview

Our Client is a fast emerging player in the business of fragrance distribution. They are seeking a matured, likely retired professional in the finance industry to serve as a Finance and Accounting Manager. The successful candidate should have experience in scaling businesses and be keen to continue sharing expertise to meet established business goals.

Role / Duties
  • I) Core Accounting & Controls
    • Full set of accounts (GL, AR, AP, Fixed Assets)
    • Ensure accurate expense recognition and payment reconciliation
    • Ensure customer and supplier invoice knock‑off accuracy
    • Manage bank reconciliations for all accounts
    • Month‑end and year‑end closing
  • II) Tax & Statutory Compliance
    • Preparation and submission of CP204 / CP204A
    • Liaison with external tax agents, auditors, and company secretaries
    • Ensure compliance with Malaysian tax and accounting standards
  • III) Cashflow & FX Management
    • Cashflow forecasting and monitoring
    • Proper handling of multi‑currency transactions
    • FX rate application consistency
    • Identify FX exposure and propose mitigation where relevant
  • IV) Management Reporting
    • Monthly management accounts (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cashflow)
    • Margin analysis by brand / channel where required
    • Identify anomalies, leakages, and operational inefficiencies
  • V) Process & System Improvement
    • Improve accounting workflows and internal controls
    • Supervise and guide bookkeepers
    • Ensure documentation discipline and audit trail integrity
  • VI) Stakeholder Support
    • Prepare data for banks, auditors, investors, and partners when needed
Requirements
  • 5–8 years hands‑on accounting experience
  • Degree in Accounting / Finance or professional qualification (ACCA, CPA, CIMA, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of Malaysian tax system and CP204
  • Proven experience with multi‑currency accounting
  • Experience managing or reviewing bookkeepers
  • Comfortable working in fast‑moving SME environments
  • Detail‑oriented, structured, and firm with controls
  • Experience with accounting systems (SQL / AutoCount / Xero / similar is a plus)
