A precision film manufacturing company in Malaysia is seeking a Film Production Engineer to support advanced manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will operate R&D machines, lead technology transfers, and collaborate with international teams, particularly in the UK. Candidates should have a relevant engineering degree and 3-5 years of experience in precision film manufacturing. Strong communication and analytical skills are essential, along with a willingness to travel for training and development.
We are seeking a highly skilled Film Production Engineer with experience in precision film manufacturing, machine design, and process development. The candidate will work closely with our UK R&D team as well as engineering and production teams in China to support the development, qualification, and scale-up of advanced film manufacturing processes.
Operate and support the R&D film production machine, ensuring stable and accurate process performance.
Develop a comprehensive understanding of the full film production process, including key parameters and control methods.
Lead technology transfer activities from R&D machine operating principles to mass production film machine suppliers.
Gain full expertise in the qualification and evaluation of nickel tooling used in film production.
Develop knowledge of film inspection technologies and film defect classification methodologies.
Work closely with the production team to analyze and establish correlations between film defects and LCD defects.
Collaborate with UK R&D teams during extended visits (1–2 months per trip) for training, process alignment, and joint development.
Coordinate with China-based engineering and production teams to support process improvement and scaling.
Bachelor’s degree in engineering in related field or Physics, Chemistry, or Materials Science will also be considered.
3-5 years working experience in precision film manufacturing, including machine design and process development, is required.
Ability and willingness to travel regularly to the UK for 1–2 month visits (company-funded).
Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with international teams.
Knowledge of defect inspection systems, optical measurement, or thin-film processing.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in Mandarin is an advantage.
