Summary
We are seeking an experienced HVAC & Thermal Cooling Field Service Engineer with a strong background in supporting data center cooling systems. This role requires hands‑on expertise in installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting HVAC systems, CRAC (Computer Room Air Conditioning) units, chillers, and other thermal management solutions, specifically for data centers and high precision environments. The ideal candidate will be skilled in optimizing cooling efficiency, ensuring uptime, and resolving mechanical, electrical, and environmental issues in data center facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond professionally and promptly to assigned service calls and emergencies.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on precision cooling systems (e.g., Liebert units, AHUs, chillers, cooling towers).
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards, company policies, and relevant codes of practice.
- Maintain a minimum 90% completion rate for planned maintenance tasks.
- Communicate effectively with scheduling teams and update job statuses promptly.
- Submit accurate service reports via Oracle Mobile Field Service (MFS) and Field DB systems.
- Identify and report service or sales leads through proper channels.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and company property in good condition.
- Participate in team activities, including callout rotations and standby duties.
- Provide cross‑support to other service domains (e.g., power systems, monitoring solutions) when required.
Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC, or related field.
- 2–4 years of experience in thermal systems or data center maintenance.
- SKM (Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia) Level 2 or 3 in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning or equivalent.
- JPK‑accredited NC2 certification in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration.
- CIDB green card and familiarity with DOE safety and environmental standards.
- Strong fault‑finding skills and mechanical/electrical aptitude.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Self‑motivated, organized, and able to work independently.
- Valid driving license (GDL is an advantage).
- Willingness to travel, work overtime, weekends, and be on standby for breakdowns.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong computer literacy and familiarity with service reporting tools.
- Prior experience in environmental services or mission‑critical infrastructure.
- Clean driving record and professional presentation.
Travel Requirement
Up to 95% (local/regional)
