A leading port terminal in Malaysia is seeking an experienced engineer to ensure safety and efficiency in operations. The ideal candidate will possess a degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering and have at least 3 years of relevant experience in troubleshooting both mechanical and electrical systems. Strong analytical and interpersonal skills are essential. You'll be coordinating with various stakeholders while ensuring compliance with HSSE standards.

Job Description

Responsible to coordinate with Duty Manager or team leader on safety, quality, and productivity and ensuring the safety, efficiency, and productive operation of a variance of equipment with a strong commitment to a safe working environment.

Safe Working Environment

• Responsible to maintain a safe and clean working environment. Strike to achieve zero LTI and drive the safety culture in the terminal.
• Monitor and enforce all HSSE requirements when carrying out work.

Preventive Maintenance Verification

• Check and confirm quality of all maintenance activities and repair works have been carried out according to the agreed quality standard.
• Verified maintenance check list after the maintenance activities.

Preventive Maintenance Evaluation

• Analyze breakdown report and rectify the issues during maintenance.
• Work closely with planners to review the effectiveness of the maintenance plan (tracking the maintenance planned against actual work, backlogs and etc).

Reliability

• To identify and monitor on the reliability of improvement projects as per project milestone.
• Liaison with the different stakeholders of the equipment to ensure the KPI of reliability achieve.

Technical Capability

• To determine suitable training need (training matrix) for the subordinate in order to improve the competency.
• Provide on‑the‑job training for technicians as and when required.

Role Replacement

• Any other duties assigned by superior which are not stated above to achieve the departmental and sectional objectives; at times cover the Duty Manager when he is not around.
• Prepare and evaluate PMDS for subordinates.
• Prepare warranty claim reports.

Requirements

• Possess a degree in Mechanical or Electrical / Electronic Engineering or its equivalent / relevant experience.
• At least 3 years’ experience in engineering field.
• Able to communicate and coordinate with third parties (like contractors, OEMs or consultants).
• Possess good experience in both mechanical and electrical areas.
• Able to carry out engineering troubleshooting work with minimal supervision.
• Have strong analytical skill to tackle technical problems.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
• Highly motivated and able to work independently.
• Able to manage a group of technicians.
• Resourceful, well organized, possess initiative and leadership with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Computer literate and fluent in English and Malay (verbal and written).
• Strong reasoning abilities and sound judgement. Good reporting and registration capability.
