Job summary

A prominent agricultural company in Malaysia is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to conduct independent field audits of oil palm estate operations. The ideal candidate should have a Diploma or Degree in Agriculture or related fields and at least 5-10 years of management experience in plantation operations. Responsibilities include reviewing documentation, identifying compliance gaps, and preparing audit reports. Strong leadership, analytical, and report-writing skills are essential. Frequent travel to remote estates is required.

Job description

Conduct comprehensive, independent field audits of estate operations, focusing on all key aspects such as harvesting, manuring, weeding, crop evacuation, pest & disease control and etc.

Review estate documentation, records, and operational reports to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.

Identify gaps, non-compliance issues, and areas for improvement, providing clear and actionable recommendations.

Verify the accuracy of all estate field records, including daily activities, inventory, and cost reporting.

Identify potential areas of financial leakage, fraud, or wastage in field operations.

Ensure strict compliance with internal Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), safety protocols, environmental regulations, and relevant certification standards (e.g., MSPO).

Prepare detailed audit reports summarizing findings, observations, and proposed corrective actions.

Carry out follow-up audits to verify that corrective actions have been implemented and confirm improvement progress.

Monitor estate performance trends and provide input for long-term operational improvement plans.

Requirements:

Diploma/Degree in Agriculture, Plantation Management, Agronomy, or related field preferred.

Minimum 5–10 years of experience in oil palm plantation management, preferably at Assistant Manager, Manager, or Senior Manager level.

Strong understanding of all plantation operations, including cultivation, field maintenance, harvesting, fertilizing, and agronomic standards.

Experience in conducting internal audits, inspections, or compliance checks is a strong advantage.

Ability to identify operational risks and recommend effective solutions.

Strong analytical, communication, and report‑writing skills.

High level of integrity, independence, and professionalism.

Strong leadership and people interaction skills, able to communicate confidently with estate workers up to senior management.

Good time management, highly disciplined, and detail‑oriented.

Ability to work under minimal supervision and handle multiple estates' audit schedules.

Willing to travel frequently and work in remote estate environments.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Successful candidates will be based in Tawau, Sabah.
