About The Role

The Field Application Engineer is responsible in collating the requirements of the factories to recommend effective solutions. This is done through understanding customer pain points, and providing technological innovations to position the company’s products or services effectively in a timely and cost efficient manner.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development & Consultation

  • Comprehensive understanding of the requirements of the key users in the factories and meet the requirements through our one-stop commodity pool.
  • Liaise with factory engineers, procurement teams, and clients to deliver expert consultation on product selection, procurement strategies, and technical solutions tailored to customer needs.
  • Analyze and identify key project requirements across various factory usage scenarios, ensuring that selected products align with operational needs and industry standards.
  • Provide pre-sales and post-sales technical support by identifying the right products, materials, and services to optimize supply chain processes.
  • Influence key decision makers with effective solutions that will eliminate inefficiencies through consolidation or better products and services.

Solution Planning & Coordination

  • Organize and analyze customer organizational structures, production workflows, and product requirements to support in designing comprehensive product and supply chain solutions.
  • Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management, logistics and commodity, to deliver timely and cost-effective solutions.

Customer Relationship & Issue Resolution

  • Serve as the main point of contact for customers, ensuring the resolution of any procurement-related issues or challenges, including technical concerns, product inquiries, or delivery delays.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, ensuring customer satisfaction and retention through effective communication and timely issue resolution.

End-to-End Procurement Process Management

  • Oversee and manage the entire customer procurement cycle, ensuring the seamless flow from requirements gathering, product selection, approval, and ordering, to final acceptance and warehousing.
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to monitor delivery timelines, stock levels, and payment processing, ensuring all steps are completed in a timely and efficient manner.

Supply Chain Optimization

  • Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of the supply chain processes, making recommendations for improvements in areas such as lead times, cost efficiency, inventory management, and overall workflow optimization.
  • Proactively identify areas where technical innovation or automation can enhance procurement processes and contribute to cost savings and efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in field application engineering, with a focus on MRO products or services in the supply chain, manufacturing, or procurement domain.
  • Strong technical knowledge in supply chain processes, product sourcing, and procurement strategies.
  • Ability to analyze complex production needs and translate them into actionable product solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with customers, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to challenges.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to travel to customer locations as required.
  • Fluency in Malay, English and Mandarin is required.
