Position Summary

The Field Application Engineer (FAE) team’s objective is to understand the technical aspects of our customers\' product development projects by working with their engineers designing in YAGEO group components across all Business Groups in conjunction with our Sales team. During this engagement with customers in every industrial sector, FAEs grasp the technical trends and design discipline direction (Low Voltage DC, AC and Power, EMI, and Sensors) and convey this to our Product Managers in each Business Group for product development roadmap input. FAEs also conduct educational training and collateral generation for our sales, distributors, and customers. FAEs are distributed globally in our sales offices.

Position role and collaboration

The FAE role is to support their Global Account Manager with their OEM account to meet with a diverse group of customers at the forefront of innovation. The ideal candidate should have an outgoing personality, an interest in learning about new technologies, and a desire to collaborate.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Understand applications, ranging from digital to high power inverters, in target markets (Computing/Telecom, Industrial, and Automotive (EV))
  • Answer technical questions in a timely fashion (within 12hours once we receive inquires)
  • Especially quality issue and product release data and materials within 24hours
  • Organize all inquires and list up design activities in order to manage all products to be mass production
  • Resolve technical objections
  • Technical liaison between sales, Product Business Unit Manager, and manufacturing
  • Deep product knowledge
  • Systematically funnel customer data to the business unit development teams and marketing for inclusion in product roadmaps
  • Provide technical training on new products and technology to OEM
  • Support any documentation OEM requests as technical aspect and prepare and submission
Deliverables
  • Sales calls, call reports, selling tools (presentations, technical information, demos), articles, application notes, etc.
Requirements
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering / Electronics Engineering.
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Ability to present moderate to highly technical materials to diverse audiences.
  • Excellent proactive problem-solving experience with demonstrated analytical skills
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
  • Minimum 2 years FAE and/or Design Engineering experience, preferably with semiconductor and/or power supply design experience
  • Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI. proficiently and experience utilizing CRM tools
