Job summary

A leading biofuel production company based in Malaysia is looking for a Plant Manager to oversee all operations, including production, maintenance, and utilities management. The ideal candidate will have a degree in engineering and at least 10 years of manufacturing experience, with significant time spent in plant management within the biodiesel or chemical fields. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with environmental standards and driving operational efficiencies.

Job description
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage all plant operations including Production, Maintenance and Utilities

Drive production efficiency, coordinate with lab and ensure quality meet standards, cost control and continuous improvement

Ensure full compliance with local biodiesel regulations, factory licensing, DOSH requirements, environmental standards and statutory reporting

Oversee factory licensing, equipment certification and plant insurance coverage

Ensure compliance with DOSH / OSHA requirements and factory regulations including machinery notifications and Certificates of Fitness (e.g., boilers, pressure vessels)

Lead environmental compliance (scheduled waste, emissions, ETP discharge limits) and coordinate required permits/monitoring

Manage compliance associated with licensing requirements for biofuel production and renewal, plant construction and blending activities

Ensure documentation and compliance for all statutory reporting and permit conditions

Manage budgets, CAPEX planning and operational performance KPIs.

Requirements

Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Industrial Engineering or equivalent

Minimum 10 years of manufacturing experience, with at least 5 years in a plant or factory management role in biodiesel, oleochemical, palm oil refinery or chemical related operations

Strong knowledge of biodiesel or chemical process operations, utilities (boilers, ETP) and maintenance management

Familiarity with environmental compliance and factory licensing requirements
