Job summary

IKEA in Johor Bahru seeks a Facilities Technician to maintain MEP systems and building operations within our shopping centre. You will perform preventive and corrective maintenance, inspections, and data logging to ensure safe, reliable facilities for customers, tenants and staff.

Ideal candidates have 3+ years in facilities or technical operations, knowledge of CMMS, and strong safety practices in a retail environment. Proficiency in Bahasa Malaysia and English is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems in a shopping centre.
• Experience with CMMS systems and maintenance documentation practices.
• Familiarity with PTW procedures and safety requirements during maintenance.
• Knowledge of building services and infrastructure in retail property management.
• Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Perform servicing, repair, and maintenance of MEP systems and building infrastructure.
• Conduct routine inspections of ACMV, lighting, electrical panels, plumbing, LPG, water systems, and façades.
• Take utility readings and record data for reporting and compliance purposes.
• Support safe operation and maintenance of facilities and technical assets.
• Execute preventive maintenance per schedules and CMMS requirements.
• Troubleshoot systems including fire protection, ELV, CCTV, PA, UPS and displays.
• Escalate faults and support after-hours breakdowns as required.
• Ensure safety during tasks and follow PTW guidelines and governance.
• Coordinate with contractors and other departments during works and events.
