Job summary

The successful candidate will maintain the school’s buildings, oversee various maintenance tasks, and perform safety checks. With 5-10 years of experience required, the role demands skills in electrical, plumbing, and carpentry, along with strong troubleshooting abilities. This role also includes support for school events and compliance with safety standards. Applicants must be willing to undergo child protection screening.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in maintenance, facilities, or building operations.
  • Skilled in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, painting and general repairs.
  • Experience with pumps, pool equipment, and fire safety systems is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures (OSHA/JKKP) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical fixtures.
  • Repair leaks, blockages, toilet fittings and plumbing pipelines.
  • Conduct weekly/monthly safety checks complying with school requirements.
  • Perform routine checks on pool filtration and water balancing.
  • Assist in school event setup and logistics.

We seek to appoint a highly capable and enthusiastic Facilities Maintenance Technician.

About the Role

HELP International School is looking for an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician to support the operation, upkeep and safety of the school’s buildings and systems. This role is ideal for a highly skilled technician with 5-10 years’ experience who can perform troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and coordinate vendors for major servicing works.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mechanical, Electrical & HVAC:
    • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance of electrical fixtures, DB boards, MCB/ELCB testing
    • Support air-conditioning maintenance (split units, filters, basic servicing)
    • Maintain pumps, motors, ventilation fans, and equipment rooms
  • Plumbing & Sanitary:
    • Repair leaks, blockages, toilet fittings and plumbing pipelines
    • Maintain rooftop water tanks, pressure pumps, and discharge systems
    • Conduct painting, wall patching, plastering, tiling, and minor renovation works
    • Repair wooden doors, hinges, locks, furniture and other fixtures
  • Life Safety Systems:
    • Perform weekly/monthly safety checks complying with school and authority requirements
  • Swimming Pool & Water Feature Maintenance:
    • Perform routine checks on pool filtration, backwashing, pressure levels, and water balancing
    • Inspect fountains and ensure proper pump and water flow operations
    • Assist in supervising contractors handling electrical, HVAC, lift, landscaping, pest control and firefighting services
    • Verify service reports and job completion before submission
    • Maintain daily maintenance logs, checklists, and issue reports
    • Manage tools, spare parts and request for replenishment when needed
  • Event & Logistic Support:
    • Assist in school event setup including furniture, electrical extensions and equipment moves
Requirements
  • Minimum 5-10 years’ experience in maintenance, facilities, or building operations
  • Skilled in electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, painting and general repairs
  • Experience with pumps, pool equipment, and fire safety systems is an advantage
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently
  • Knowledge of safety procedures (OSHA/JKKP) preferred
  • Willing to work on shifts or weekends for events when required
